FUND ACCOUNTING SPECIALIST – LONDON BASED JOB
Position Overview
The Funds Business Management Group is responsible for operating public and private fund complexes globally with over $700 billion in AUM. The European Funds team is primarily responsible for oversight of European mutual funds consisting of more than 85 funds with over $100 billion in AUM distributed in over 26 countries.
A Specialist in the Fund Accounting group will be charged with assisting in the oversight of fund accounting and administration of European domiciled Funds.
You will be expected to work in tandem with members of the Fund Accounting, Pricing, Technology, Financial Reporting and Tax teams servicing European funds in the London office, plus global offices in the US and Asia to document, oversee, and execute processes related to the oversight of the fund accounting and fund administration service providers.
We are looking for an inquisitive, sharp, tireless, passionate, person that will learn quickly, play a key role in achieving operational excellence and grow with the business. This role will coordinate extensively with product business owners within the group and across the firm. The appropriate candidate will be able to exhibit project management skills through a proven track record of meeting deadlines and coordinating across functional areas.
Key responsibilities:
Responsible for the Fund Accounting oversight of Irish and Luxembourg based mutual funds
Responding to internal and external fund accounting queries
Oversight, co-ordination and review of fund distributions
Oversight and management of third-party vendors (fund accountants, administrators, custodians) related to the Funds
Coordinate and communicate daily inquiries to appropriate internal departments
Develop reports for European Funds Management, operation committee, Boards & Management on European Funds
Support Account Management and business development activities. e.g. reports and advise
Support Fund Launches and process
Manage various projects related to process improvements, procedure and systems development

Minimum qualifications
Requirements
5-7 years of experience and Bachelor’s degree
A firm understanding of mutual fund accounting (including accounting systems), exposure to a broad range of fund structures a plus
Support/reporting for income/yield-oriented mutual fund types
Solid knowledge of the operational components of Net Asset Value calculation and various asset/security types
Understanding of Irish GAAP & Tax rules applicable to Ireland registered funds
Detail-oriented, with strong analytical and data management skills (Excel usage, Macros writing, Database queries, etc.)
Risk and controls minded, with solid process and documentation background
Ability to work in a fast paced, deadline driven environment
Clear communication skills, both written and verbal
CFA or a registered accounting qualification desired, but not required
