Description
We have a career opportunity for an SQL Database Administrator. The successful candidate will work within the Technology Department which support a network of over 1200 users across a number of locations. The main function of this role is to actively participate as part of a team of IT professionals and will be based at the Dublin premises with occasional travel required to regional office locations. The Technology and Operations Department comprises Operations, Development and Technical infrastructure teams. Main technologies in use are Microsoft Windows Server 2008 / Windows 7, 8.1, VMware based virtual servers and SAN, LAN/WAN based on Cisco IP technologies, supporting a multitude of end user applications, including line of business, financial, productivity tools etc. LAN/WAN is based on Cisco technology with MPLS and Etherflow WAN, and Avaya VoIP services in place between locations.

Principal Duties & Responsibilities Advanced SQL Architecture / Design SQL Performance Tuning SQL Health and Risk Review SQL Discovery SQL Consolidation Planning SQL Upgrades High Availability Installation / Configuration Load Testing Day to day troubleshooting / support Setup and maintain documentation

Minimum qualifications
• Bachelor's degree in computer science, information systems, engineering, business or a related field (or an equivalent combination of education and experience). • 4 + years experience • Experience working in environments of at least 1,000 users • The potential candidate should be self-motivated with an ability to survive in a progressive IT environment, along with the flexibility to adapt to new technologies. • Have a good understanding of Microsoft technologies.
Preferred qualifications
• Excellent customer service, interpersonal, communication and organisational skills and the ability to multi-task are essential. • The successful candidate must demonstrate an ability to learn and grow within this role. • Willingness and ability to work in a fast-paced and rapidly changing environment. • Ability to work under pressure and meet critical deadlines.
